Endowment Fundraiser

October 22, 2010

(Above)This banner provided advanced advertisement of our event to Museum visitors. (Right)Fall decorations donated by Devine Farms near Hebron, provided a festive welcome for our guests. ONRA’s own Ed Wagstaff surprised us with a jack-o-lantern adorned with the Ohio Historic National Road shield to set by the National Road milestone!
Thanks to generous donations from businesses and ONRA members across the state, our Silent Auction abounded with Ohio products and attractions, handicrafts, art, and more.
ONRA Board member Jan Brady sold wine tasting tickets and commemorative Ohio Historic National Road logo wine glasses.
ONRA Treasurer Marian Vance (at left) and volunteer Christe Auerswald handled the ticket sales and guest greetings!
Raven’s Glenn Winery
Terra Cotta Vineyards
Georgetown Vineyards
Guests enjoyed the delicious refreshments provided by Classic Fare Catering.
The One More Time String Band, including ONRA Board member Sylvia Miller on the guitar, entertained one and all!
Authors Glenn Harper (seated at left) and ONRA Vice President Doug Smith autographed copies of their newly released 4th edition of the popular A Traveler’s Guide to the Historic National Road in Ohio.
Selling chances to win a tree decorated with 50 lottery tickets was a fun addition to the event, and Todd Henning was obviously a very happy lottery tree winner!
Site manager Debbie Allender, staff members Kat Miller and Joanna Duncan (not pictured), and volunteers from the nearby John & Annie Glenn Historic Site went out of their way to help make this fund raiser a success. The National Road/Zane Grey Museum was a perfect venue and provided a beautiful and educational backdrop for our event.
ONRA Board members (left to right) Doug Smith, Dean Ringle and event co-chair Pat Henahan (standing) handled the Silent Auction sales at the close of the evening with help from fellow Board members Cyndie Gerken, co-chair Judy Williams and other kind souls (not pictured).
