The Great Race

The Great Race Stopped in Dublin, Ohio on June 26, 2006!

The Great Race is a coast-to-coast rally for cars and trucks 45 years old and older, and the 2006 race was the 24 th running of the event. It started in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 24, 2006, followed the National Road/US 40 for a while, and finished in San Rafael, California on July 8. The teams made an overnight stop in Dublin, Ohio where these photos were taken. Despite a brief but torrential downpour, it was lots of fun!

The events in Dublin included a Classic car show, with 100 of the area’s best classics, muscle cars and hot rods, Entertainment, Food and beverages, Static displays by the Ohio National Guard, a Flyover during opening ceremonies by the Ohio National Guard, the Rahal/Letterman Indy race car, and Greg Biffle’s NASCAR #16 National Guard Ford Fusion. As the Great Race entrants reached the Dublin “finish gate”, they parked along High and Bridge Streets, where the teams were available for pictures. Many of the entrants and attendees visited our ONRA information tent!
