The Ohio National Road Association participated in Zanesville, Ohio’s Third Annual Y-Bridge Arts Festival on August 5-6, 2011. The East Main Street (National Road/US 40) span of the historic Y-Bridge was closed to traffic and was transformed into an outdoor gallery of white tents and lights. Over two hundred visual artists, crafts demonstrators and performance artists were on hand to welcome thousands of attendees. ONRA and other non-profits were set up in the Canal Area, which was designated as the Kid’s Activities Zone. Volunteer representatives of our Association gave out Traveler’s Guides, Byway postcards, and ONRA newsletters, and also provided crayons, National Road coloring book pages, activity workbooks, and tables at which children could sit and color. Board members Mary Ellen Weingartner, Alan King (and his wife), Elizabeth Reeb, Charla Devine and Cyndie Gerken represented ONRA throughout the two-day event. |
